5th Class Trip to Combilift

26th Feb 2026

Our 5th class pupils recently enjoyed an exciting and educational visit to Combilift in Monaghan.

The visit gave students a wonderful opportunity to see engineering and manufacturing in action. Combilift, a global leader in innovative forklift and material-handling solutions, welcomed the class for a guided tour of their impressive facilities. Pupils learned about the design, production, and testing processes involved in creating specialised lifting equipment that is used all around the world.

During the tour, the children discovered how important teamwork, creativity, problem-solving, and precision are in the engineering industry. They saw first-hand how subjects such as maths, science, and technology are applied in real-life settings. The scale of the factory and the advanced machinery made a big impression on everyone!

The visit sparked great interest and curiosity among the pupils, with many thoughtful questions about careers in engineering, robotics, and manufacturing. It was a fantastic learning experience and a valuable opportunity to connect classroom learning with the wider world of work.

We would like to sincerely thank the team at Combilift for their warm welcome and for taking the time to inspire our future engineers.
