Comórtas Fichelle

A huge well done to the school’s senior Chess Team for competing at the Comórtas Fichille tournament at Gaelscoil Ultain, Monaghan on Wednesday, April 15th.

There were 18 teams at the event who were all invited based on their performance in their locak Féile Fichelle. Our team members faced opponents from St. Michael's NS Annyalla, St. Brigid's Tunnyduff, Gaelscoil Ultain, St. Anne's Bailieborough, Milltown NS and Gaelscoil Lorgan across six rounds.

It was a fantastic event and although our team missed out on attaining a medals position on the leaderboard; everyone had a great day with some excellent chess on display.  

A special mention goes to Edvardas Bartkus and Casey Foy who were our school’s top point scorers throughout the tournament.
