Sixth Class and Senior Infants go on a Bear Hunt!
Sixth Class in Room 2 recently teamed up with the children from Senior Infants in Room 10 for a fun and engaging World Book Day activity based on the much-loved story We’re Going on a Bear Hunt by Michael Rosen.
The pupils were paired together and took part in a variety of outdoor activities inspired by the story. The sixth class pupils did a wonderful job guiding and supporting their younger partners throughout the morning.
Together, the children set off on a scavenger hunt, searching the local grounds to identify different plants and berries. They also worked as teams on a ‘bear’ treasure hunt, following clues and exploring the outdoors just like the characters in the story.
The fun continued with some hands-on activities. The pairs planted seeds together, learning about how things grow, and enjoyed getting a little messy while making mud pies in our outdoor area!
It was a fantastic opportunity for pupils from different classes to collaborate, learn from each other, and celebrate a favourite book in a creative and active way.
A big well done to Sixth Class and Senior Infants for their enthusiasm, teamwork, and sense of adventure during their very own bear hunt!
