The Christmas Shoe-Box Appeal

Every year, around mid November Ms. Sherlock informs the school about the Christmas Shoebox appeal. Any pupil who wishes may decorate and fill a shoebox for a child less fortunate than themselves in Africa or other poor parts of the world. Toothpaste, gloves, a scarf, colouring crayons, soft toys etc are all very welcome. The response from St. Michael’s each year is fantastic.

Approximately 60 pupils take part in the appeal, and when all the boxes are gathered together Alex Coleman from the Anglo Celt comes out to the school to take a photograph. Then Mrs. Ann Bradley collects the boxes and they are sent on to a national collection point in Dublin. Thank you to Ms. Sherlock and to all the boys and girls for supporting this great appeal.
